Effective Leadership principles of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

Effective Leadership principles of Prophet Muhammad (s)

Author: Muhammad W. Khan

It is a well-known fact that the Prophet of Islam (saw) was the supremely successful man in the entire human history. But he was not just a hero, as Thomas Carlyle has called him. According to the Qur’an, he was the best example for all mankind. He has shown us the way of achieving supreme success in this world. By studying the life of the Prophet (saw), we can derive those important principles which were followed by the Prophet (saw). Indeed, the Prophet of Islam (saw) was a positive thinker in the full sense of the word. All his activities were result-oriented. He completely refrained from all such steps as may prove counter-productive.

First Principle: To begin from the possible

This principle is well explained in a saying of Aishah. She said: “Whenever the Prophet had to choose between two options, he always opted for the easier choice.” (Al-Bukhari) To choose the easiest option means to begin from the possible, and one who begins from the possible will surely reach his goal.

Second Principle: To see advantage in disadvantage

In the early days of Mecca, there were many problems and difficulties. At that time, a guiding verse in the Qur’an was revealed. It said: “With every hardship there is ease, with every hardship there is ease.” (94:5-6).

This means that if there are some problems, there are also opportunities at the same time. And the way to success is to ignore the problems and avail the opportunities.

Third Principle: To change the place of action

This principle is derived from the Hijrah. Hijrah was not just a migration from Mecca to Medina. It was to find a more suitable place for Islamic work, as history proved later on.

Fourth Principle: To make a friend out of an enemy

The Prophet (saw) of Islam was repeatedly subjected to practices of antagonism by the unbelievers. At that time the Qur’an enjoined upon him the return of good for evil. And then, as the Qur’an added, “You will see your direst enemy has become your closest friend” (41:34). It means that a good deed in return of a bad deed has a conquering effect over your enemies. And the life of the Prophet(saw) is a historical proof of this principle.

Fifth Principle: To turn minus into plus

After the Battle of Badr, about 70 of the unbelievers were taken as the prisoners of war. They were educated people. The Prophet(saw) announced that if any one of them would teach ten Muslim children how to read and write he would be freed. This was the first school in the history of Islam in which all of the students were Muslims, and all of the teachers were from the enemy rank. Here I shall quote a British orientalist who remarked about the Prophet of Islam (saw): He faced adversity with the determination to writing success out of failure.

Sixth Principle: The power of peace is stronger than the power of violence

When Mecca was conquered, all of the Prophet’s (saw) direst opponents were brought before him. They were war criminals, in every sense of the word. But the Prophet (saw) did not order to kill them. He simply said: “Go, you are free.” The result of this kind behavior was miraculous. They immediately accepted Islam.

Seventh Principle: Not to be a dichotomous thinker

In the famous Ghazwa of Muta, Khalid bin Walid decided to withdraw Muslim forces from the battlefield because he discovered that the enemy was unproportionately outnumbered. When they reached Medina, some of the Muslims received them by the word “O Furrar (O deserters!)” The Prophet (saw) said “No. They are Kurrar
(men of advancement).” Those Medinan people were thinking dichotomously, either fighting or retreating. The Prophet (saw) said no. There is also a third option, and that is to avoid war and find a time to strengthen yourself. Now history tells us that the Muslims, after three years of preparation, advanced again towards the Roman border and this time they won a resounding victory.

Eighth Principle: To bring the battle in one’s own favorable field

This principle is derived from the Ghazwa of Hudaibiyya. At that time, the unbelievers were determined to engage Muslims in fighting, because obviously they were in an advantageous position. But the Prophet (saw), by accepting their conditions unilaterally, entered into a pact. It was a ten-year peace treaty. Until then, the meeting ground between Muslims and non- Muslims had been on the battlefield. Now the area of conflict became that of ideological debate. Within two years, Islam emerged as victorious because of the simple reason of its ideological superiority.

Ninth Principle: Gradualism instead of radicalism

This principle is well-established by a hadith of Al-Bukhari. Aishah says that the first verses of the Qur’an were related mostly to heaven and hell. And then after a long time when the people’s hearts had softened, the specific commands to desist from adultery and drinking were revealed in the Qur’an. This is a clear proof that for social changes, Islam advocates the evolutionary method, rather than the revolutionary method.

Tenth Principle: To be pragmatic in controversial matters

During the writing of Hudaibiyyah treaty, the Prophet (saw) dictated these words: “This is from Muhammad, the Messenger of God.” The Qurayshi delegate raised objections over these words. The Prophet (saw) promptly changed the word and ordered to write simply Muhammad, son of Abdullah.

These were the principles through which the Prophet of Islam (saw) gained that success which has been recognized by historians as the true success.

“Fact: The US Supreme court honored Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him) as one of the greatest impact on law in the world in 1935.

Equality before the law; Innocent until proven guilty; The right to counsel … this is why in 1935, the United States Supreme Court honored Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as one of the 18 greatest lawgivers in human history in 1935.

Islam is also

Georgette Lepaulle, 92, is oldest muslim revert in the world !!

The 92-year-old Georgette Lepaulle from Berchem (Belgium) is the oldest muslim convert in the world. Last year she became Muslim. “Especially the friendliness of the people attracts me. And Allah has been a few times my prayers. “

With the introduction Georgette holds her hands deep in the sleeves of her djellaba. She refuses the outstretched hand. “You should not take this personally, but since I am Muslim, I get no strangers anymore. I will only touch my husband. Not that I have wedding plans. What should a widow of 92 still a virgin? ” Then splashes Georgettes loud laugh at. The roaring laughter of “Muhammad Maddah” is still on.

oldest-convert-islam.jpg

Georgette and Mohammed are already more than 40 years neighbors. Then two years ago Georgettes her family in a nursing home wanted to quit, Muhammad obstructive. His neighbor had come to live with his family. That could not be a problem because Muhammad’s wife, son and two daughters knew Georgette all throughout their lives. Muhammad was actually just lost his own mother. Georgette would recover that loss.

“By coming here to attend, I pulled in Islam,” says Georgette. “I saw these people pray together. I saw how caring they interact. How they talk to each other. How important family is to them. Totally different from my cold family. Since my conversion, I have not heard from my 72 year old daughter. ”

Of God apart

Last summer went by Georgette Mohammed was a family visit to Morocco. That was just in Ramadan, the fasting of the Muslims. “I knew what fasting is, because I’m Catholic. I was baptized, went to the nuns at school, church was twice married and have my two husbands an ecclesiastical burial. During my working life I was a maid in a Jewish family. But religion has never touched me. On the contrary. I lived quite apart from God. On my fifth I smoked my first cigarette and my last on my 78th. On my seventh drank my first glass of alcohol and for my conversion I drank half a bottle of wine every day. That was a habit from my first marriage with an Italian fighter pilot in the war was killed. ”

During her participation in Ramadan last year by Georgette a deep religious feeling awakened. She was shocked by themselves. They’re so late in her life another completely new experience would get. For the first time she had contact with something higher. With Allah. She felt his openness. His love. She asked him the healing of a friend and the rescue of a little boy who was on the wrong track. Her two bedes are interrogated. That was the sign for Georgette to apply to convert to Islam.

Woman Kissing

Women have Georgette was completely washed. That was her ingress ritual. “Then they continued to kiss me. So glad they were because I was a sister of them. I’ve never been kissed so much – you probably know by women – as since entering Islam. I’ve got something must surrender. Beverage, tobacco, pork and – it is not easy for a woman – even makeup. Previously I put the makeup always in thick layers. ”

Back in Belgium, they went to the big mosque in Brussels for a certificate for Noor Islam – that is the new name of Georgette. The mosque in Brussels reported the conversion of the then 91-year-old Belgian woman immediately to the mosque in Mecca. Wherein they plunged into the archives but found no older converts. Immediately, the king of Saudi Arabia them informed that an envoy to Berchem sent with a gold watch for Georgette. Plus an invitation to next year at his expense to come to Mecca. The Saudi television will follow her. But the VRT was for them. Famous Everyone turned in a report on Georgette.

It’s a dirty question, but they must be asked: Georgette had paid for something to convert to Muslim? She looks very strict and yet again that loud laugh: “Money has nothing to do with it. I took this decision entirely voluntarily. Everyone is free to do so. Others should not follow my example. ”

As-salamu `alaykum wa rahmatullah

The latest book that has blown me away is Shaykh Sa’id ‘Abd al-‘Adhim’s amazing compilation: ‘al-Atqiya’ al-Akhfiya’. I was casually reading through some of its chapters this evening when I came across some quotes which I thought to share (now and in the near future insha’Allah). Below are a couple of quotes from two great personalities in our history:

The advice of Ja’far ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Ali (rahimahullah) to his son:

“O my son, accept my advice and commit my statement to memory, for if you do so, you shall live in happiness and die in a praiseworthy state. O my son, whoever is content with what Allah has portioned out for him, will be rich, and whoever looks to what lies in the hands of others, will die impoverished, and whoever is not pleased with what Allah has portioned out for him, ends…

Ban attacks on religious symbols !

The grand imam of Cairo’s Al-Azhar has called on the United Nations to pass a resolution to ban all forms of attacks against Islam and other religions.

On Saturday, Sheikh Ahmed El-Tayeb issued a statement addressed to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in which he emphasized “the need for an international resolution (banning) any attack on Muslim religious symbols,” Egypt’s MENA news agency reported.

The resolution should “criminalize attacks on Islamic symbols and on those of other religions, after the violence against those who provoked challenges to world peace and international security,” Sheikh El-Tayeb added.

Anti-US demonstrations, which began on September 11 over a low-budget anti-Islam film, have been held across the Muslim world, with protesters storming US embassies and torching US flags.

Muslims in Iran, Turkey, Sudan, Egypt, Yemen, Tunisia, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Kashmir, Pakistan, India, Iraq, Gaza, Morocco, Syria, Kuwait, Nigeria, Kenya, Australia, Britain, the United States, France, Belgium, and some other countries have held many demonstrations to condemn the movie that disrespected Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Sheikh El-Tayeb said it was the UN’s responsibility to “protect world peace from any threat or aggression,” so that “these dangerous events cannot recur.”

The prosecutor’s office has named seven men and one woman who are believed to be involved. One who has a warrant against them is US Christian Pastor Terry Jones. They added that the international police agency Interpol would be notified as well as a request filed for the US judicial authorities.

Leo Tolstoy – By Dr. Ragheb El-Sergany

Leo Tolstoy (1828-1910)

Lev Nikolayevich Tolstoy, born on 09-09-1828 and died on 20-11-1910, is one of the most prominent novelists and belletrists in Russian literature in the 19th century, if not the greatest novelist in the entire world.

His War and Peace is one of his most famous works. It deals with life’s different stages and describes political and military events in Europe from 1805-1820 including, of course, Napoleon’s invasion of Russia in 1812.

A mention may also be made of his famous Anna Karenina, in which he deals with many social, moral and philosophical issues in the form of an amorous tragedy whose heroin is Anna Karenina.

What is Art is also among his notable works in which he explains that art should morally instruct and improve the conditions of the people and be simple enough to communicate with the masses.

From Tolstoy’s treatise about the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad:

Humanity needs Islamic law

“The law of the Qur’an will prevail in the world because it agrees with reason and wisdom. I have come to understand that humanity needs only a Divine law to establish the truth and destroy falsehood. Islamic law will encompass the entire world because it is consistent with reason and agrees with wisdom and justice.”[1]

They amazed their surroundings

“It is true that the wide spread of Islam at the hands of those (Muslims) did not appeal to the Buddhists and Christians. However, the indisputably well-established fact is that the Muslims, in the early days of Islam, were recognized for their abstinence in the false world, pure conduct, uprightness and honesty so much that they amazed their surrounding neighbors with their noble manners, mercy and kindness.”[2]

O people of vision

“One of the good merits of the Islamic religion is that it enjoins good treatment to Christians and Jews in general and Christian bishops in particular. It commands to deal with them kindly and helpfully and permits its followers among men to marry Christian and Jewish women, who are allowed to remain on their religion – a teaching which implies great toleration not hidden from men of enlightened visions.”[3]

I admire Muhammad

“It suffices Muhammad for pride that he was able to rescue a humiliated and bloody people from the devil of blameworthy habits and opened to them the way of development and progress.

I am one of those who admire the Prophet Muhammad, whom God chose to carry His last message and be the last Prophet.”[4]

A great work

“Undoubtedly, the Prophet Muhammad is one of the greatest reformers who served the social community. It suffices him for pride that he guided an entire nation to the light of truth, made his people inclined to peace and tranquility and giving preference to an ascetic life, prevented them from bloodshed and offering victims from among mankind and opened to them the way of development and civility. This is indeed a great work which could be done only by a man gifted with power, and such a man is worthy of respect and honor.”[5]
